Super 8 by Wyndham Cooke City Yellowstone Park Area

We booked here for one night while staying at Yellowstone. Therefore we paid Yellowstone prices (high!) and had Yellowstone expectations (mediocre, at best!). Honestly, this was a good choice for what we needed. We checked in at 10:30 pm and checked out at 5 am. We never saw another living person because the desk is not staffed at night. Our keys were in a slot in the wall with our name on them. The rooms were clean (although they only have double beds, not queens, ugh) and comfortable. Seriously, we just needed to sleep. This was our cheapest option, but it was well-lit and felt safe and secure for our needs. Also, a huge perk is the Sinclair gas station right next door. They serve pizza by the slice all night long and also really good doughnuts and breakfast sandwiches in the morning. We ate there coming and going. We had a good night without too much damage to the pocketbook, and for that reason we would probably do it again if we took the same trip another time.

What a fantastic experience...!! The management and front desk people are amazing. I do not know the name of the lady who was there on the night of Sep 5th but I must she that she is a very nice person. We brought dinner from outside and forgot to buy plate, when I asked her if she could manage two plates for us, she opened the locked door of the breakfast area and gave us 4-5 plates with a big smile on her face. She realized that we might need more than two. Small gestures talk a lot about a person and we are thankful to that beautiful lady who came to our rescue that night. Apart from that Room was very cozy, bed was nice, washroom was roomy and very nice. Yes there was no AC but that does not matter to me. I am hiker and can fit myself into any place. Come on it's small town outside the North East entrance of Yellowstone, do not expect the luxury of tier 3-4 cities. Breakfast was not large but I was fine with that, at least we got something to eat in such a remote mountain place and that was enough for me.

Great staff, hotel is starting to show its age but our room was very clean. For sure needs updates but we would stay here again. I heard people upset about wifi but we were on a family vacation so we didn't care if it worked or not.

You have to Levine the hotel with the location. Cooke City is the end of the road and an hour and a half from Gardener, closest driveable location in the winter. Lots of sled activities and excellent AT skiing.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Internet was working just fine (many comments recently that they did not have working internet). They have Starlink - connection and speeds were great. Easy place to stay.

i have never stayed here but am planning on it in Spetember...just wanted to point out that all the average to bad reviews on here are about how it is not updated and the wifi sucks. I just wanted the managment to know that is why I am coming here...I hope the wifi sucks and that everything is outdated....why would you take the time to spend you vacation at Yellowstone National Park and then worry about the wifi at your hotel! Makes no sense to me and I am sure this place will be just fine when i arrive in September!

Good place to spend a night . Not expensive and close to both Yellowstone North East Entrance and Beartooth Highway. I loved Cooke City, Small town with cute little shops. Rooms are OK , not big but we were OK. April on front desk was super friendly!! Breakfast is decent.

The people at the front desk were nothing short but awesome. We stayed here a couple nights ! The beds were comfortable and clean , we were on the 2nd floor it was easy accessible by stairs or the side door ! The rooms don’t have air conditioner but do have ceiling fans and box fans which were perfect! There is no cell service which is expected but they do offer internet that worked just fine! The house keeper she is very nice she swapped out our old towels for new as we extended our stay , because we enjoyed the hotel and location that much! This hotel is clean , reasonably priced and very nice people! If you want clean rooms , comfortable beds, hot water and nice people look no further! We know where we will be staying from now on in Cooke city! Thank you guys keep it up!
